Director, Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana
Dan Miller was named Director of the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana in October 2011.
From 2000 to 2010, Miller served as executive vice president of Kimball International and president of Kimball Furniture Group in Jasper, Indiana. There, he led development of the $1.2 billion NASDAQ company's Asian supply chain for furniture. He also grew market share and retained profitability during 40 percent industry revenue declines and expanded the company's hospitality furniture business to a world leader in hotel furniture.
Miller has also served as executive vice president for Latin America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Whirlpool Corporation. There, as a member of Whirlpool's eight-person executive committee, he played a key role in refining and implementing the company's globalization strategy.
Miller's career has also included roles as president and CEO of International Knife and Saw in Cincinnati, Ohio, and president and COO of Overhead Door Corporation in Dallas, Texas.
Miller graduated from the University of Evansville in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. Miller previously served on the University of Evansville's Board of Visitors and Board of Trustees.
Director, Global Assistance Program
Mr. Bohrnstedt, raised in Minneapolis, MN, earned his B.S. degree in Business & Information Systems from Regents College and attended the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, earning a MBA degree with a major in Strategic Management.
He was appointed the Director of the Global Assistance Program in the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana at the University of Evansville in May, 2009. Prior to this appointment, he served as Principal Consultant at Bohrnstedt & Associates, LLC. Prior to starting his consulting firm, he was the Director of Strategy and Market Development at Accuride Corporation. Prior to his arrival in Evansville, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan in several roles, including: Global Advertising Finance Manager, Mustang Product Development Finance Supervisor, Financial Analyst, and Business Analyst. Before attending graduate school, Mr. Bohrnstedt was a Site Manager for Raytheon and a Lead Technician for Lockheed Martin - both positions were in Iceland where he lived for a total of eleven years. Prior to earning his B.S. degree, he served six-years in the U.S. Navy specializing in anti-submarine warfare.
He is a member of many regional Chambers of Commerce, Friends of UE Music, Friends of WUEV; serves on the steering committee of the Tri-State World Trade Network and other professional associations, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, among other organizations.
He lives in Newburgh, Indiana and has four children.
Cindy Kelley, Senior Administrative Assistant
Cindy Kelley joined the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana in November 2007 as Senior Administrative Assistant. Prior to coming to the University of Evansville, Ms. Kelley was the Coordinator of Continuing Medical Education at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana where she had been employed for the past nineteen years. She graduated from Indiana State University - Evansville in 1982 with a B. S. degree in Marketing and Psychology.
