Keynote Luncheon - Ridgway University Center, Room 252B
Higher education institutions are defining global learning outcomes they deem essential for college graduates to thrive in an interconnected world. While such outcomes are often associated with study abroad programs, campuses have begun to embed global learning in far more comprehensive ways across the curriculum in both general education and within majors and within campus life more generally.
In this workshop, leading global learning advocates helped attendees identify central global learning goals and match those goals with best practices of course and curricular design. Using examples from the field and from the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Shared Futures: General Education for Global Learning project, participants and facilitators explored what really counts as global learning and how to create greater campus-wide coherence and coordination within those efforts.
